Golden Finance reports that the market has been on an absolute tear since Trump won the election, but investors have questioned whether this blockbuster performance can continue after his inauguration day. AnalystBrian Russ said, “If we expect the deficit to widen and inflation to rise cyclically, then bonds become less attractive compared to real assets. That could be stocks and certainly precious metals. I think Bitcoin and commodities Commodities will also be brought into the discussion. You can see some price action in commodities that is partly driven by stories and partly driven by supply dynamics.” Russ said ETFs may affect traditional 60/40 portfolios. More people are switching from the bond market to alternative investments. “A 60/40 portfolio has always been 60% stocks and 40% bonds. Now people are looking for alternatives. So we may not put the entire 40% in bonds. Maybe gold and silver will account for Part of it, and maybe Bitcoin will take a part of it as well.” As these portfolio reallocations occur, expect gold, Bitcoin, silver, and even some other assets to be on their tailwinds. He believes fixed income will face headwinds and we may now be in the early to mid-term stages of that.
