According to Golden Finance, in the Ethereum Foundation's latest semi-annual AMA, researchers responded to issues such as Ethereum scalability, Layer1 revenue and security.
EF researcher Justin Drake revealed that the first phase of the Pectra upgrade is expected to be launched in the next few months, with a focus on improving data availability, and is expected to significantly increase the number of blob transactions from 3 per block to 6. It will greatly affect the Blob fee market. While there are calls in the Ethereum community to raise the “basic fees” of the blob, researchers at the Ethereum Foundation generally believe this is a short-sighted idea.
"I expect Ethereum's TPS will reach 10 million in about 10 years (about 100 transactions per person per day), and even if each transaction is $0.001, the daily revenue will reach $1 billion :)" Drake said.
One of the goals of the Pectra upgrade is to strengthen Ethereum's economic status, especially by promoting the adoption of "native Rollup", thereby reducing the dependence of L2 solutions on Layer1. Vitalik Buterin said Ethereum’s goal is to keep the network neutral.
Researchers stress that as the network expands in the future, the demand for data availability will exceed supply, and future expansion plans such as Danksharding will help balance this gap. In addition, EF has opened a $2 million bug bounty, encouraging the community to stress test the hard fork to ensure the safety of the Pectra upgrade.
