Golden Finance reported that US President Trump appointed Danielle Sassoon as the interim head of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, responsible for Manhattan and surrounding areas. Sassoon led the case against FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, which ended with Bankman-Fried being sentenced to 25 years in prison. Additionally, she was involved in the U.S. Department of Justice’s case against Terra founder Do Kwon. Sassoon is a graduate of Harvard University and Yale Law School and clerked for the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. She will lead the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District until Trump's official nominee, Jay Clayton, completes the confirmation process.
