January 20, 2025, Donald ·Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building in Washington, the capital of the United States.

Here is the full text of his speech:

Donald Trump:

Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Thune, Chief Justice Roberts, the Justices of the United States Supreme Court, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow citizens. America's golden age now begins.

From today on, ours will prosper and be respected around the world again. We will be the envy of everyone and we will no longer allow ourselves to be taken advantage of. Every day in Trump, I will put America first, very simply. Our sovereignty will be taken back. Our security will be restored. The scales of justice will be rebalanced. The Department of Justice and our weaponization of evil, violence and injustice will end. Our first priority will be to build a proud, prosperous and free nation.

America will soon be greater, stronger, and more distinguished than ever before. I return to the Presidency with confidence and optimism, believing that we are at the beginning of an exciting new era of success, that a wave of change is sweeping the country, that the sun is shining throughout the world, and that America has the opportunity to seize an unprecedented opportunity.

But first, we must be honest about the challenges we face. While these challenges are many, they will be vanquished by the overwhelming superiority of the United States of America as the world watches.

As we gather together today, we face a crisis of trust. For many years, a radical and corrupt institution has seized power and wealth from our citizens while the backbone of our society has fractured and appears to be in complete disrepair.

We now have a country that cannot manage even a simple crisis, while at the same time we are caught up in a series of catastrophic events abroad. It fails to protect our great, law-abiding American citizens and instead provides shelter and protection to dangerous criminals, many of whom come from prisons and mental institutions and illegally enter our country from around the world.

Our government provides unlimited funding to defend foreign borders, but refuses to defend America’s borders and, more importantly, its own people. Ours can no longer provide basic services during emergencies, as the wonderful people of North Carolina have shown recently when they were treated so poorly, as are other states still reeling from the hurricanes that occurred just months ago.

Or more recently in Los Angeles, where we see fires from weeks ago still burning miserably without even a hint of defense. they are in housesand wreaking havoc in our communities, affecting even some of our wealthiest and most powerful people, some of whom are sitting here right now. They no longer have a home. It's funny, but we can't let this happen again. There is nothing anyone can do about it. This will change.

Our public health system fails to respond to disasters, yet it costs more to do so than any other in the world. Our education system teaches our children to be ashamed of themselves and in many cases, despite our desperate efforts to provide them with love, they continue to hate us. Starting today, that's all going to change, and it's going to change fast.

My recent election was mandated to completely and utterly reverse a horrific betrayal, and all that has happened, and give back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and even their freedom people.

From this moment on, America's decline ended. Our freedom and our glorious destiny will no longer be denied, and America's integrity, competence, and loyalty will be restored immediately. In the past eight years, I have been tested and challenged more than any president in the 250-year history of the United States, and I have learned a lot. I can tell you that rebuilding our republic will not be easy.

Those who want to stop our cause are trying to take away my freedom and even my life. Just a few months ago, in beautiful Pennsylvania, an assassin's bullet passed through my ear. But I felt then, and believe even more now, that my life was saved for a reason. God saved me and made America great again. Thank you. Thank you.

That’s why, under the stewardship of our American patriots, we will work every day to respond to every crisis with dignity, authority, and strength. We will be clear in purpose and move quickly to bring hope, prosperity, security and peace to citizens of every race, color and creed. For American citizens, January 20, 2025 is Liberation Day.

I hope our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most important election in the history of our country.

As our victory demonstrates, the entire community is rapidly coming together to support our agenda, nearly every component of our society, young and old, men and women, African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, urban, suburban, rural, there was tremendous support. Very importantly, we had huge victories in all seven swing states, and we won millions of votes.

To the Black and Hispanic communities, I want to thank you for the tremendous love and trust you have shown me by voting for me. We made a record and I won’t forget it. I heard your voices on the campaign trail and I look forward to working with you in the years to come. Today is Martin Luther King Day and in his honor, it would be a great honor, but in his honor we will work together to make his dream a reality.We will make his dreams come true. Thank you. Thank you.

The United States is regaining its unity, and confidence and pride are at an all-time high. Everything we do. I will be motivated by the pursuit of excellence and relentless success. We will not forget ours. We will not forget our Constitution, nor will we forget our God. You can't do this.

Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the radical renewal of America and the revolution of common sense. This is all common sense.

First, I will declare a national emergency along our southern border. All illegal entry will be stopped immediately and we will begin deporting millions of criminal aliens back to where they came from.

We will restore my stay in Mexico. I will end the practice of catch and release. I will send troops to our southern border to repel a catastrophic invasion of our country.

Under the order I signed today, we will also designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. By invoking the Foreign Enemy Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and vast power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate all foreign gangs and criminal networks that bring devastating crime to American soil, including our cities and towns. As Commander-in-Chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasion, and that's exactly what I do. We will reach levels never seen before.

Next, I will instruct all members of my Cabinet to focus the vast forces at their disposal to defeat record inflation and rapidly reduce costs and prices.

The inflation crisis is caused by massive overspending and rising energy prices, which is why today I am also declaring an energy emergency. We're gonna drill for oil, babies, we're gonna drill for oil.

America is going to be a manufacturing industry again, and we have something that no other manufacturing industry will ever have, the largest reserves of oil and natural gas on Earth, and we're going to use it and they use it. We will lower prices, refill our strategic reserves to the peak, and export American energy around the world.

We will become a wealthy nation again, and the liquid gold beneath our feet will help make that happen.

With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, we will reverse the electric vehicle subsidy mandate, save our auto industry, and keep my sacred promise to our great American autoworkers.

In other words, you can buy the car you like. We will build cars in America again at a pace that no one could have imagined just a few years ago, and thank you for your inspiring vote of confidence in our autoworkers. We performed well in their polls.

I will immediately begin overhauling our trading system to protect American workers and families. We don't tax our citizens to make others rich, we tax foreign countries to make our citizens rich.

For this purpose we are buildingEstablish a Foreign Revenue Service to collect all duties, taxes and revenues. There will be a huge influx of money from abroad into our coffers. The American Dream will soon be back and thriving like never before.

To restore confidence and effectively govern our Commonwealth, my President will create a new Department of Efficiency.

After year after year of illegal and unconstitutional restrictions on free speech, I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all censorship and bring free speech back to America. His immense power will never again be used to persecute his opponents. Something I know, something about we won't allow that to happen. This won't happen again.

Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal and impartial justice under the Constitution and the rule of law, and we will restore law and order to our cities.

This week, I’m also wrapping up my attempts to integrate race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will create a society where admissions are based on merit, regardless of color. Starting today, the United States will officially have only two genders, male and female.

This week, I will reinstate all service members who were unjustly discharged for opposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates, with full pay. I will sign an order that prevents our warfighters from being subjected to radical theoretical and social experiments while on duty. It's going to be over soon.

Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission: defeating America's enemies.

Like 2017, we will once again build the most powerful military the world has ever seen. We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars we end and, perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into.

My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier, that is what I want to be, a peacemaker and unifier. I'm pleased to say that just yesterday, the day before I took office, hostages in the Middle East were returning home to their families.

Thank you. America will regain its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, and most respected nation on earth, inspiring all the admiration throughout the world.

Soon from now we will be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and we will be renaming Mount McKinley, where it belongs, after the great President William McKinley. place. President McKinley made ours very rich through tariffs and talent. He was a born businessman and financed a lot of the great things that Teddy Roosevelt did, including the Panama Canal, which we foolishly gave Panama, I mean, think about the United States spending more on the Panama Canal than ever before For all the money spent on a project, 38,000 lives were lost in the construction of the Panama Canal.

Most importantly, my message to the American people today is that it is time for us to once again act with the courage, energy, and vitality of the greatest civilization in history. So when we free our , we will lead it to new heights of victory and success. We will not be intimidated.

Together we will end the chronic disease epidemic and keep our children safe, healthy and disease-free. America will once again think of itself as a growing nation, one that increases our wealth, expands our territories, builds our cities, raises our expectations, and carries our flag to new and beautiful horizons.

We will pursue our destiny. We are going to launch American astronauts to plant the Stars and Stripes on Mars.

Ambition is the lifeblood of a great company, and right now, ours is more ambitious than any other. None are like ours. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs and pioneers. The spirit of the frontier is written in our hearts. The call to the next great adventure echoes deep in our souls.

Our American ancestors transformed a small group of colonies on the edge of a continent into a mighty republic composed of the most extraordinary citizens on earth. No one can come close. Americans traveled through thousands of miles of rugged wilderness.

They crossed deserts, climbed mountains, bravely faced countless dangers, won the great development of the West, ended slavery, saved millions of people from tyranny, and freed billions of people from tyranny. Poverty, harnessing electricity, split the atom, launched man into space, and placed the universe of human knowledge within the palm of his hand.

If we work together, there is nothing we cannot do and there is no dream we cannot realize. Many people thought it would be impossible for me to stage such a historic comeback. But as you saw today, I'm here and the American people have spoken. I stand before you now to prove that you should never believe that something is impossible.

In America, the so-called impossible is what we do best. From New York to Los Angeles, from Philadelphia to Phoenix, from Chicago to Miami, from Houston to Washington, our nation was created and built by generations of patriots who gave their all for our rights and freedoms. They were farmers and soldiers, cowboys and factory workers, steelworkers and coal miners, policemen and pioneers, who marched forward and never let any obstacle destroy their spirit and pride.

Together they laid railroads, built skyscrapers, built highways, won two world wars, defeated fascism, and conquered every challenge they faced. After all we have been through together, we are about to embark on four of the greatest years in American history. With your help, we will restore the promise of America, and we will rebuild the country we love.

We are one, oneFamily, a glorious one under the blessing of God. So, to every parent dreaming for their children and to every child dreaming for their future, I am with you. I will fight for you and win for you. We will win like never before. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Our has suffered greatly in recent years, but we will bring it back and make it great again, greater than ever. We will be a difference, full of compassion, courage and uniqueness. Our power will stop all wars and bring a new spirit of unity to a world filled with anger, violence and total unpredictability.

America will once again be respected and admired by people of faith, faith, and good will. We will prosper. We will be proud. We will become stronger and we will win like never before. We will not be conquered. We will not be intimidated. We will not be defeated, nor will we fail.

From this day forward, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation. We will stand up with courage. We will live with pride. We will dream big and nothing will stop us because we are Americans.
