Golden Finance reported that the public chain Zilliqa issued a document announcing that its prototype mainnet Aventurine is now online, and the Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet Agate, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2025, has paved the way. The new Zilliqa 2.0 network uses a different architecture and proof-of-stake consensus mechanism to migrate transaction history from the old Zilliqa network to the new protocol. To ensure everything runs smoothly, the prototype mainnet phase has been extended to give developers, validators, and delegators time to adapt and prepare for the move to Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet. A full mainnet launch will officially switch the current Zilliqa mainnet to Zilliqa 2.0, and delegators will need to reallocate their stakes to validators of their choice. The expanded Aventurine prototype mainnet phase provides everyone (developers, validators, and delegators) with the opportunity to participate, enhance Zilliqa decentralization, test the system, and provide feedback.
