Golden Finance reported that US President Trump said on social media that the United States will impose tariffs on "external" agricultural products from April 2, which is the latest threat to his setting of trade barriers on imported goods. Trump said: "To the great American farmers: Be prepared to start producing large amounts of agricultural products and sell them domestically. Tariffs will be imposed on external products on April 2." Trump did not specify which products will be affected, nor did he say whether there will be exceptions. It is unclear whether his plan is part of a previously announced effort to impose so-called “reciprocal” tariffs on nearly all U.S. trading partners.
