According to foreign media reports, a new congressional committee head aimed at strengthening Congressional supervision plans to conduct a broad review of how the Fed makes interest rate decisions, including whether inflation should be placed before job protection. "Many of my colleagues and chairmen on the Financial Services Committee want to discuss this issue," said Rep. Frank Lucas, a Republican U.S. Congressman, said. The first hearing of the Task Force on Monetary Policy, Treasury Market Resilience and Economic Prosperity will be held next week. They will ask questions about the dual mission and how this will affect the primary task of price stability.
