On December 13, Musk tweeted, "Gary Gensler, how could you do this to me?" along with a screenshot of Musk's lawyer's email to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler. The content in the picture shows that Quinn Emanuel Law Firm sent an email to Gary Gensler on behalf of Musk, severely accusing the SEC of improper investigations into Musk and his associated companies.
The SEC commissioner has issued an ultimatum to Musk within 48 hours to accept the settlement, otherwise he will face multiple charges, claiming that this is an action taken based on instructions from his superiors. At the same time, the letter mentioned that the SEC has reopened its investigation into Neuralink, a company owned by Musk, which shows that the SEC's actions have gone beyond seeking the truth, but are targeted actions based on improper motives.
The letter asked for clarity on the source of the order, questioning whether it was the SEC chairman himself or the White House. Its lawyers warned that "these tactics and misguided tactics are not threatening" and said they reserved the right to take further legal action.
