One of them, in a Dec. 11 article, profiled ResearchHub, a platform that pays peer reviewers who independently review new research papers the equivalent of $150 in cryptocurrency. Pedro Paulo Gattai Gomes, a molecular biology consultant in São Paulo, says he now makes more money reviewing papers for ResearchHub than he did as a professor at an academic institution. It reviews an average of 15 papers per month and earns ResearchHub’s RSC tokens worth $150 for each review. Paid review is just, because in my opinion, it is very unfair to not even get a thank you for unpaid work.
