Riot Platforms announces intention to raise $525 million through issuance of convertible senior notes to purchase BTC

Golden Finance reported that according to official news, Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms announced that it plans to raise US$525 million through the issuance of convertible senior notes with an annual interest rate of 0.75%. These notes will be sold only to qualified institutions through private placements. Buyers, the offering is an increase from the previously announced issuance of notes in the aggregate principal amount of $500 million and is expected to close on December 11, 2024, subject to customary closing conditions. Riot said it plans to use the net proceeds from the offering to purchase additional Bitcoin and for general corporate purposes.
According to previous news, on December 9, Riot announced plans to non-publicly issue $500 million in convertible senior notes, mainly for Bitcoin acquisitions and general corporate purposes.
