Golden Finance reports that Cboe BZX exchange has proposed amending Rule 19.3 to allow exchanges to launch Ethereum spot ETF options trading, a "competitive filing" based on a similar proposal filed by the U.S. branch of the New York Stock Exchange, which The Securities and Exchange Commission is currently awaiting approval.
The document specifically mentions Bitwise Ethereum ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Trust, Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, and "any trust holding Ethereum." Cboe BZX wrote in the filing: "The exchange believes that providing Ethereum fund options will benefit investors, providing them with additional, relatively low-cost investment tools to gain exposure to spot Ethereum, as well as a hedge. Tools to meet their investment needs in Ether products and positions.”
