Poland arrests former CEO of Russian CEX WEX and will extradite to the United States

According to reports on December 9, Reuters and Polish media Rzeczpospolita reported on December 6 that Polish authorities arrested the former CEO of the Russian cryptocurrency trading platform WEX in downtown Warsaw. The man’s name was Dmitry V. He is suspected of engaging in fraud and money laundering while running WEX, which collapsed in 2018.
A Polish police spokesman told Reuters: The man is currently in custody pending the completion of all extradition proceedings. Dmitry V could face charges that carry up to 20 years in prison if extradited to the United States.
