Golden Finance reported that the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court issued a white paper on criminal trials with "equal emphasis on punishment and governance", which disclosed that since 2019, more than 600 criminal cases related to financial trading platforms have been tried and concluded. From the perspective of investment types, the investment names of financial trading platform crimes are diverse and constantly evolving, from the initial spot investments such as stamps, calligraphy and paintings, to financial investments such as futures, options, stocks, foreign exchange transactions, and now to NFT (digital collections) , digital currency and other emerging areas. From the statistical data, the top three investment projects in descending order of case volume are futures, stocks, and virtual currencies, accounting for approximately 50%, 20%, and 11% respectively. Criminals often use WeChat public accounts, mini-programs and live broadcasts to promote so-called "virtual currencies" and other contents, resulting in the continuous expansion of the scope of relevant illegal information and the continuous increase in the number of people being deceived.
