Golden Finance reported that the German Central Bank (DZ Bank) began piloting a retail cryptocurrency solution with the first bank, Westerwald Bank, to open a crypto wallet and start trading. Additional partner banks are expected to come online in 2025, but the timing will depend on each institution. In March, DZ Bank partnered with the Stuttgart Stock Exchange (Börse Stuttgart) to provide retail cryptocurrency trading and custody services to its clients. DZ Bank serves 737 community banks, the so-called Volks and Raiffeisenbanke.
