According to news on January 24, Pierre Rochard, vice president of research at Riot Platforms, issued an article stating that the biggest obstacle to the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Plan does not come from the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, the Bank, or Elizabeth Warren, but from Ripple/XRP. Ripple is investing millions of dollars in lobbying funds to try to block the advancement of the US Bitcoin Strategic Reserve (SBR) plan. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse countered that the company's actions are actually increasing the possibility of the implementation of strategic cryptocurrency reserves including Bitcoin, which is in line with Trump's campaign claims to support American enterprises and technology. Pierre questioned whether Garlinghouse himself actually held XRP, implying that he was only selling tokens. Pierre also pointed out that Ripple had used similar measures to crack down on the Bitcoin mining industry during the Biden administration, with the intention of promoting CBDC based on its platform.
