According to media reports, Apple and Baidu have reached a cooperation agreement and plan to launch a generative artificial intelligence service called Apple Intelligence in China in 2025. It is reported that this cooperation will use Baidu's most advanced Wenxin Big Model 4.0 technology to provide support for Apple's iPhone, Mac, iPad and other devices.

It is worth noting that long before WWDC2024 was held, news of cooperation between Apple and Baidu had spread in the industry. Apple CEO Cook visited China more than once. The industry speculated that Cook’s trip was related to AI cooperation.

Although Apple announced Apple Intelligence at WWDC2024, until now, users of the National Bank version of iPhone have not been able to experience this feature. According to reports, Apple encountered multiple problems when adapting to the Chinese version of the iPhone, such as the AI's failure to respond accurately to common usage scenarios. This shows that Apple faces challenges in localizing AI technology.

For Apple Intelligence, Apple has always hoped to use this to revive iPhone sales in the Chinese market. Apple is currently facing fierce competition from domestic mobile phone brands. All major domestic brands have launched AI functions. The iPhone 16 series AI has still not been implemented, and its progress lags behind its competitors.

In addition, if Apple and Baidu reach a cooperation, the Chinese version of iPhone can be connected to Baidu’s most advanced AI large model Ernie 4.0, which will not only help improve the iPhone’s AI experience, but also ensure that Apple is providing Artificial intelligence services comply with relevant regulatory requirements and avoid potential legal risks.
