Golden Finance reported that as Nvidia strengthens its business in Southeast Asia, the company’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang agreed to open an artificial intelligence research and development center in Vietnam. Vietnam's Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said at a signing ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday that the project and the Viettel Group data center using Nvidia technology will help develop advanced artificial intelligence in the country. Nvidia will also acquire VinBrain, the artificial intelligence unit of Vingroup JSC, which is "the starting point for a major future design center," Huang said. According to the VinBrain website, this is a start-up company focused on applying artificial intelligence to the medical field. Huang Renxun did not give a valuation for VinBrain. Representatives for Vingroup were not immediately available for comment.
