Golden Finance reported that according to the "Washington Post", US President-elect Trump is considering nominating Florida Governor DeSantis to replace the Secretary of Defense. Trump and DeSantis discussed the matter in person on December 3, according to people familiar with the matter. Spokespersons for both men did not immediately respond. Previously, Trump said on November 12 that he would nominate Pete Hegseth as the US Secretary of Defense. Later, Peter Hegseth was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2017. Although he was not charged in court, multiple US media outlets reported that Hegseth paid the woman a sum of money as part of the settlement.
