According to Bitcoin.com, Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty recently revealed on social platforms the U.S. regulator’s “Operation Chokepoint 2.0” action against the encryption industry (a government-led liquidation operation against the cryptocurrency industry). He pointed out that since 2021, agencies such as the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC have put pressure on the crypto industry through bank regulatory policies, which are consistent with the regulatory approach in 2012 targeting specific industries such as gun stores. Alderoty, a former bank general counsel, said the regulator’s statement that it “doesn’t prevent banks from serving crypto customers” actually implies “don’t even think about it.”
