Golden Finance reported that blockchain analysis company Chainalysis said that stablecoins will still dominate the illegal transaction volume in 2024. Chainalysis’ 2025 Crypto Crime Report states that stablecoins accounted for 63% of all crypto transaction volume related to illegal activity last year. Since 2022, stablecoins have surpassed Bitcoin to become the most used cryptocurrency for such activities. “This new reality is part of a broader ecosystem trend in which stablecoins also account for a significant proportion of all crypto activity, as evidenced by stablecoin activity growing by approximately 77% year-over-year,” the report states.
