On January 15th, OpenAI announced the appointment of Adebayo “Bayo” Ogunlesi, an executive of investment company BlackRock (BlackRock), as a member of the board of directors. Ogunlesi is currently a senior managing director at BlackRock and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners and has extensive experience in managing global organizations. He held several senior positions at Credit Suisse and served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. His joining will strengthen the OpenAI board’s capabilities in the fields of AI safety, cybersecurity, regulation and economics to promote the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI).
