Judge approves Ripple and SEC's request to seal certain court documents

Golden Finance reported that according to coinedition, U.S. Senior District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton approved the request of Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and the SEC to seal specific court documents. Both sides can now keep sensitive information private as the case progresses. The sealed documents include key exhibits related to summary judgment and expert testimony that are critical to the case. The court ruled under the Ninth Circuit’s “compelling grounds” rule. Ripple seeks to seal eight exhibits related to the summary judgment and 56 exhibits in opposition to the SEC's motion. At the same time, the SEC requested that some of its exhibits, including expert testimony, be sealed.
