Golden Finance reported that a spokesperson for Microsoft (MSFT.O) confirmed that Microsoft will donate US$1 million to US President-elect Trump’s inaugural fund, in partnership with Google, Amazon, Meta, Apple CEO Tim Cook and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's donation was comparable. The company donated $500,000 each to Trump's committee in 2017 and to President Joe Biden's committee in 2021, doubling its previous donation this time. It’s emblematic of the tech industry’s sweeping efforts to curry favor with Trump. Since Trump won the 2024 election, he has been dining with tech industry CEOs at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
