Golden Finance reported that the Thai police recently conducted a raid in Chonburi Province and seized 996 Bitcoin mining machines suspected of stealing electricity. The operation, carried out jointly by Thailand's Province 2 Police and the Provincial Electricity Authority, found that the miners were illegally obtaining electricity by bypassing electricity meters. According to people familiar with the matter, the mine only conducts mining operations at night in order to avoid supervision. In August 2024, Malaysia also destroyed nearly a thousand illegal mining machines due to similar cases. The police have seized relevant equipment and launched an investigation.
