Golden Finance reported that according to data from Token Terminal, the five major DeFi protocols generated $158 million in revenue in December 2024, with four of them setting a record high in monthly revenue. Ethena leads the way, with December revenue of $56.9 million, a record high. Additionally, this amount represented nearly 25% of its total revenue of $230.8 million last year. Sky (formerly Maker) also hit an all-time high in monthly revenue, generating nearly $40 million last month, accounting for 13% of its $304 million in 2024. The new revenue record is within $1 million of the previous record set in January 2022. DEX Aerodrome on Base earned approximately $38 million in revenue in December, which also hit a record high and was more than $5 million higher than before, equivalent to 15.6% of the protocol’s revenue of $243.6 million in 2024. Between November and December last year, Aave's revenue jumped more than $3 million to $13.6 million. This month's revenue hit a record high, equivalent to 16.7% of last year's total revenue of $81.4 million. Lido is the only one of these DeFi apps not to have a record monthly revenue, with revenue of $9.6 million in December, equivalent to 9.3% of the $103.6 million the protocol will earn in 2024.
