Golden Finance reported that according to people familiar with the matter, advisers to U.S. President-elect Trump are considering how to reshape the leadership of the Federal Reserve, including appointing Fed Governor Bowman as the Fed’s next vice chairman for supervision. This comes after Michael Barr announced on Monday that he would resign as vice chairman for supervision while retaining his seat on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Meanwhile, advisers have begun drafting a list of potential replacements for Chairman Jerome Powell, whose term ends in May 2026. Although Trump chose Powell to serve as chairman during his first term, he has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the decision. According to people familiar with the matter, Trump's advisers are currently considering candidates to replace Powell: Kevin Hassett, who will serve as director of the White House National Economic Council, and former Bush administration officials Larry Lindsay and Mark Summerlin , former World Bank President David Malpass, former Federal Reserve official Kevin Warsh and Bowman.
