Golden Finance reported that at a preliminary hearing in Manhattan, Chief Prosecutor Jared Leno told the court that Terraform Labs co-founder and former CEO Do Kwon’s criminal fraud trial in the United States is tentatively scheduled for January 2026. Held to give prosecutors and Kwon's defense attorneys ample time to review the "massive" 6 terabytes of data expected to be generated during the investigation.
Prosecutors said the government expected to face more delays because Montenegrin authorities provided four cellphones when they extradited Do Kwon to the United States on Dec. 31, and they were unable to obtain encrypted information and unlock the phones. Delays also require the government to translate excerpts from Do Kwon's native Korean into English.
The next status conference on the case is scheduled for March 6 at 11 a.m. ET.
