According to news on January 8, 27 current and former employees of the blockchain department of gaming giant WeMade have filed a lawsuit against the company for "unpaid" altcoin bonuses, demanding compensation of approximately US$11 million. The group said the company had promised to pay them cryptocurrency performance-based bonuses for work surrounding the WEMIX token. Among these employees, some are still working at WeMade and are made up of members of the Wemade Tree subsidiary, WeMade’s former blockchain division. It is reported that the company developed WEMIX and was listed on the cryptocurrency exchange for the first time in 2020. WeMade subsequently merged with WeMade Tree in February 2022.
