Golden Finance reports that Amazon-backed OpenAI competitor and artificial intelligence startup Anthropic is in advanced negotiations for a $2 billion financing deal that will bring its valuation to $60 billion. People familiar with the matter said this round of financing was led by venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners. The deal will make Anthropic the fifth most valuable U.S. startup behind SpaceX, OpenAI, Stripe and Databricks, according to data provider CB Insights. Last year, the company was valued at $18 billion in a funding round led by Menlo Ventures.
