If Solana investors look away from their AI tokens, they will see some interesting products planned this year roll out.

Of course, shipping dates are always delayed, but as of now, a range of Solana products are expected to launch in 2025. Solana Mobile’s Seeker mobile tops the list, along with Jump Crypto’s Firedancer client full version. DePIN, crypto wearable technology, and Jito’s restaking platform are also areas to watch, with new product launches expected.

This corresponding author believes that the most noteworthy product launch will be the Solana Seeker, the second phone created by Solana Mobile. The new phone is expected to launch in mid-2025.

Solana Mobile is developed by Solana Labs, the original Solana development company where co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal still work. Perhaps because of its credibility, Seeker has attracted dozens of Solana teams to its so-called dApp store.

The Seeker order came in part from interest in phone-related token airdrops, which proved quite profitable for the last Solana phone. When we last spoke in October, Solana Mobile general manager Emmett Hollyer said the Seeker, which currently sells for $500, had 145,000 pre-orders.

Hot on the heels of the Seeker hype may be the full rollout of Firedancer, a Solana validator client built from the ground up by Jump Crypto. Firedancer is the software that Solana network validators can run to process transactions and build blockchains—and Solana loyalists have been raving about it since development began in 2022.

Firedancer was revealed to have gone live at the Solana Breakpoint conference in September 2024, but is currently only running in non-voting mode, meaning the client still essentially comes with training wheels. No one really knows if or when Firedancer will be fully launched, and the team isn't doing much to promote it. The client's GitHub repository shows the number of votes submitted for the past month. Two code submissions that are easily related.

Despite a slight decline in interest in DePIN among crypto chatterboxes, there was a Solana DePIN release that I followed this year. DAWN, a darling in the cryptocurrency space, aims to become a decentralized internet service provider with plans to launch on mainnet in 2025.

Speaking of an industry experiencing declining interest amid the explosion in artificial intelligence, Jito’s restaking platform should launch in about a month, team members told me today.

There is another uncertain factor to watch: fitness technology. Pulse, a fitness tracking band connected to Solana, is scheduled to ship in the first quarter. The second generation of Cudis' Solana smart ring just started shipping in December (I should point out that my first Cudis ring was rusty, although my second one is fine so far. Still, Buyer beware).
