Golden Finance reported that the Finance Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee recently issued the "Action Plan for Further Promoting Guangzhou's Digital RMB Work" (referred to as the "Digital Currency 2.0 Plan"). The "Action Plan" clarifies the main tasks of the pilot work from seven aspects. The first is to further give full play to the functions of the member units of the Guangzhou Digital RMB Work Leading Group. Each unit will formulate work plans for innovation and promotion of digital renminbi application scenarios around the areas in charge, and implement no less than one application scenario in the areas under charge. The second is to explore and promote the use of digital renminbi as a unified payment method for prepayment in the city. The third is to vigorously create various digital renminbi application demonstration areas. The fourth is to further enrich and improve the application scenarios of digital renminbi in transportation. The fifth is to promote innovative digital RMB application scenarios in the port and shipping field. Sixth, actively promote the application of digital renminbi in cross-border payments and other businesses. Actively promote digital renminbi operating institutions and related enterprises in Guangzhou to participate in the pilot test of the multilateral central bank digital currency bridge. The Guangzhou Commodity Exchange’s bulk commodity trading platform and the Guangzhou Shipping Trading Company’s Guangzhou Shipping Trading Platform have implemented digital RMB applications. Seventh, vigorously improve the basic strength of the digital RMB industry.
