Lightspeed organized an anonymous survey and distributed it to Solana builders to understand their views on other ecosystems, Perspectives on venture capital, startups, and more.

Here are the results of our poll of 42 builders:

“In the early days and during bear markets, networks naturally formed. Over the years, those who valued collaboration and helping solana naturally had a tighter network. Some of these people (including those from the OG solana experiment It's natural that the people on the room team later found a lot of voice and following. Almost all of the surviving teams were also funded by VCs and Solana Ventures, but in my opinion this is true. Solana didn't mean any harm. The foundation does a great job of actively communicating the resulting impact and supporting people across the ecosystem (see Superteam, etc.), and Toly does a particularly good job of championing the builders, in my opinion., without any discrimination, but based on: 1) what they are building is cool; 2) sincerity.

“More block space needs to be added as soon as possible. 5x demand + 2x price appreciation = 10x larger blocks needed to maintain the same cost for app builders! ”

There’s a lot to dig into here, but here’s a few things I found of interest: Other builders don’t think highly of pump.fun, but they think the meme is a great benefit to the ecosystem . Moreover, Base and Sui appear to be Solana's most attractive competitors.
