Golden Finance reported that Goldman Sachs analysis pointed out that U.S. President-elect Trump proposed to impose 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico, which is expected to bring in nearly $300 billion in annual revenue, but may lead to a 0.9% increase in core PCE inflation. Jan Hatzius, chief economist at Goldman Sachs, said the tariff would significantly push up consumer prices. Although the tariff proposal may be Trump's negotiating strategy and whether it will be implemented is still uncertain, market expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates have begun to weaken.
