Golden Finance reported that Dana M. Peterson, chief economist of the Conference Board, said, “U.S. consumer confidence continued to improve in November, reaching the highest level in the past two years. The increase in November was mainly due to consumers’ concerns about the current situation. The assessment of the situation is more positive, especially in the labor market. Consumers are also much more optimistic about future employment opportunities than in October, reaching the highest level in nearly three years. At the same time, consumers are also optimistic about future business conditions. There is no change in expectations, while optimism about future earnings has declined slightly." According to previous news, the U.S. Conference Board's consumer confidence index recorded 111.7 in November, a new high since July 2023.
