According to news on December 31, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded to the controversy about the governance structure of the Cardano Foundation (CF), emphasizing the importance of decentralization principles and community supervision. The controversy originated when Rick McCracken, a well-known figure in the Cardano community, questioned the foundation’s leadership and transparency, arguing that there was a lack of effective community oversight. Charles Hoskinson pointed out that the foundation is not directly related to IOHK and Emurgo. The use of the Cardano Foundation’s $600 million ADA treasury does not directly represent the community. In his view, a lack of enthusiasm from foundations to fund projects like Catalyst could hinder the growth of the ecosystem. This approach may lead to ongoing problems for the ecosystem in the future, especially considering that major contributors like IOHK are working without proper incentives. Charles Hoskinson responded to McCracken's statement, calling the comments "disgusting" and "disappointing." He pointed out that IOHK did have some problems, such as the need to lay off employees during the bear market, but always focused on the ecosystem.
