Golden Finance reported that the encryption market research institution Santiment issued an article on the X platform stating that in the last few days of 2024, the trading volume in the cryptocurrency field has dropped significantly. Overall, transaction volume fell 64% over the past week compared to the previous week, which included Bitcoin’s all-time high. The downward trend in trading, especially in speculative altcoins, is not surprising. The last week of December is typically one of the least active times of the year as the holidays approach and traders sort out their year-end finances. All that being said, if whales continue to exhibit strong accumulation trends, the lack of retail participation could actually lead to at least one unexpected 2024 rally with little retail attention.
