Bill Ackman, billionaire and founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, posted on X platform, "I just figured out why U.S. Treasury Secretary Howard Lutnick is indifferent to the stock market and the economic collapse. He and Cantor are long bonds. When our economy collapses, he can make a profit. Choosing a company with a large number of fixed-income bonds as Secretary of Commerce is a bad idea. There is an irreconcilable conflict of interest."
