Golden Finance reported that the U.S. Senate passed a Republican budget blueprint last Saturday aimed at extending President Trump's 2017 tax cuts and significantly cutting government spending. The Senate voted 51:48 to pass the "budget settlement" move, which would allow Republicans to bypass the filibusters that the Senate needs 60 votes to support, and could pass Trump's tax, border security and military priorities later this year without Democrats voted for. The bill will be submitted to the Republican-led House of Representatives, which is expected to be considered this week. Nonpartisan analysts say that if Trump's agenda is passed, it will add about $5.7 trillion in federal government debt over the next decade. Senate Republicans believe the measure costs $1.5 trillion and said the impact of extending existing tax policies that were scheduled to expire at the end of this year should not be included in the cost of the measure.
