Earlier, Trump shared a link to a video on his social media platform, Real Social, that claimed that the president deliberately made the market plummet as part of his broader economic plan. When asked repeatedly whether Trump was interested in planning a market sell-off, Hassett responded: "He was not trying to collapse the market. He was trying to benefit American workers." Hassett said: "It is not a (government) strategy."
