According to Golden Finance, OpenAI founder Sam Altman, published an article saying, "OpenAI plans to release O3 and O4-Mini before GPT-5, probably just a few weeks later, and then a few months later. There are many reasons for this, but the most exciting thing is that we will be able to make the GPT-5 better than we originally expected. It is much harder to integrate everything seamlessly than we thought, and want to make sure there is enough capacity to support unprecedented demands expected to appear."
