Sony Electronics Singapore said in a statement on Tuesday that it had enabled USDC payments through the payment service of cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com, marking the first time the company has conducted direct cryptocurrency transactions locally. This feature allows customers to checkout using USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the USD. Currently, the feature is limited to Sony's online store and is only available through Crypto.com's payment system. While only one cryptocurrency is currently supported, Sony said it plans to increase support for other cryptocurrencies in the future.
