According to Golden Finance, according to Cointelegraph, several British industry associations have sent joint letters to Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office, calling for the appointment of special cryptocurrency envoys and formulate special action plans for digital assets and blockchain technology.
The joint letter was signed by six digital economy industry associations including the UK Crypto Assets Business Committee, Global Digital Finance, and Payment Association. They recommend following the US practice and appointing blockchain envoys to coordinate policies and promote innovation. The industry association also calls for the establishment of a high-level industrial-government-regulatory agency dialogue mechanism and set up specialized services to help high-potential enterprises develop.
It is reported that these associations believe that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology can bring 57.3 billion pounds (about US$73.6 billion) growth to the UK economy in the next decade, and is expected to contribute 1.39 trillion pounds (about US$1.8 trillion) to global GDP by 2030.
