BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said in an annual letter released on Monday that many of the people he contacted were nervous about the recession. Many people's concerns stem from uncertainty in the Trump administration's tariff policy. "I heard this from almost everyone I've talked to. Their anxiety about the economy is more than any time in recent memory," Fink wrote in the letter. Earlier this month, Fink said in an interview, "The collective impact in the short term is that the market is retreating. When talking to CEOs across the economy, they said the economy is weakening." But in the annual letter, Fink's tone was different, and he did not talk about the specific details of the economic uncertainty that is prevalent in the financial world, but pointed out the flexibility of the capital market in its 400-year history.
