According to Cointelegraph, cryptocurrency platform Debiex was ordered to pay about $2.5 million for failing to respond to the lawsuit accused by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) of accusing it of a "pig killing" fraud gang. On March 13, Arizona Federal Court Judge Douglas Rayes approved the CFTC’s earlier summary judgment motion and ordered Debiex to refund approximately $2.26 million stolen from clients while paying nearly $221,500 in civil fines. The judge said there was no evidence that Debiex did not respond to the CFTC because of "forgivable negligence."
