According to Golden Finance, VanEck's digital assets research director Matthew Sigel published an article that Florida Republican representative and gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds promised to support the inclusion of Bitcoin in state reserves on Fox News. Donalds said without being asked: "Digital assets have found their homes in Miami-Dade County. We hope to continue to grow on this framework. For the state's portfolio, I hope to be able to use Bitcoin as part of the state's fiscal portfolio."
Donalds stressed that Bitcoin has proven to be an excellent storage tool for value and wealth, and that incorporating it into the state balance sheet will help deal with possible economic storms in the future. He also said: "Florida will become the world's financial center, not only the United States, but the world's financial center."
