Golden Finance reported that more than 1,200 cryptocurrency ATMs in the United States were mysteriously removed from the first week of March. On February 25, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin proposed legislation to crack down on fraud in U.S. cryptocurrency ATMs. As of March 3, the United States owned 29,731 cryptocurrency ATMs, accounting for 79.9% of all cryptocurrency ATMs worldwide. Canada and Australia are behind, with 3,085 ATMs (8.3%) and 1,467 (3.9%) respectively. Durbin's legislation will require cryptocurrency ATM operators to warn users about fraud in order to prevent fraud. In addition, it will take steps to minimize funding losses and provide law enforcement with tools to track illegal transactions.
