According to the number of chips and the electricity used in the park the company is discussing, the cost could exceed $200 billion, one of the people familiar with the matter said. Meta's proposed new data center campus has not been reported before and it will be several times larger than a new AI data center that Zuckerberg discussed in Louisiana last month. These discussions suggest Meta is preparing to respond to the surge in demand for generative AI from billions of users by providing AI chatbots across all of its applications.
