Golden Finance reported that the North American Electric Reliability Corporation said on Tuesday that about half of the United States faces an increased risk of power supply shortages over the next decade, which could lead to blackouts and power conservation measures. The company said in its annual long-term reliability review that as U.S. electricity consumption rises from artificial intelligence data centers and the electrification of buildings and transportation, efforts to increase power generation have failed to materialize, leading to a worsening supply and demand imbalance.
