According to the official news of Aave, the upgrade of Aave v3.3 version developed by BGD Labs has been officially launched. This upgrade mainly optimizes the bad debt handling and clearing mechanism, paving the way for the upcoming Umbrella security system. The Umbrella system will replace the existing Safety Module, introducing an automation mechanism that allows users to pledge aToken to earn rewards while absorbing bad debts of the protocol without the need for governance voting intervention. The system is only open to users with no lending positions and aims to improve protocol security, especially during market volatility to better protect user assets from bad debts.
