Golden Finance reported that US Treasury Secretary Bescent said when talking about revaluing the value of gold reserves, "When talking about sovereign wealth funds, I said, 'Monetization of the balance sheet' is definitely not what I want." Asked if he would discuss the issue, he repeated, “This is not what I want.” Gold reserves are currently priced at $42.22 per ounce, a traditional official price decades ago. Reassessing the value of these assets based on current market prices could increase the calculation from $11 billion to about $750 billion. He said there were no plans to visit Fort Knox, Tennessee, where most of the U.S. gold reserves were located, but he promised that “all the gold is there” and any senator was welcome to visit.
